I love Lightroom. It’s my first choice for pre-editing the newborn images that I create for my families. I mostly change the exposure and temperature, some sharpening and a few other things.
I’ve recently purchased Lightroom 6 and started to have troubles.
First, the Lightroom kept crashing every other time. Very annoying. However, the problem was easily resolved with the help of Adobe support. They simply provided the latest version of the installer. Not sure why it wasn’t there at the moment of purchase… Anyway, I was happy with the result.
Second, the Lightroom started to change colours after import. Why??? I had no idea what to look for. I googled and googled but all I could find was the explanations about sRGB and profiles. Just to say, I have Mac.
I didn’t get the solution from the web and kept searching myself (I’m the kind of girl who will not give up:)).
That’s my original image.
That’s what I started to have.
I knew somewhere there were settings that I’d missed somehow and that would change the colours. And I was right. I started to check every setting possible until I found this. Graphics processor in Lightroom. Shame on me I haven’t heard about it. To my great joy it turned out to be what I needed. Go to Preferences/Performance and uncheck Use Graphics Processor.
I really hope it will be useful for someone who as me is struggling to find a solution right away. And hopefully this will be found by those who run into the same problem when Lightroom changes colour after import.
